The 2025–2026 Film Review further explores the concept of border, approached from multiple perspectives and centered on stories that have sparked positive change—stories that invite us not only to reflect, but also to evolve in our actions. As in the previous edition, we will examine borders in their many dimensions: geographical and political borders; social borders; subjective and lived borders; ecological borders; scientific and ethical borders, among others.

As an extension of the subjective border, we are introducing a new horror film cycle. Horror offers a compelling way to explore fear, anxiety, and the limits of human experience, while often reflecting the tensions and uncertainties of its time. In this sense, it provides another lens through which to examine the borders—both visible and invisible—that shape our lives.

Through the movies we present, as well as the conversations that will follow after each screening, we will explore what these borders mark and which others they create, what consequences they have (and for whom), as well as what possibilities of encounters they might enable, depending on how they are practiced. Through these moments, we wish to open a space to reflect on the deeply troubling times we live in.

Screenings will take place in the evenings, in the Auditorium (Club House, Via Esperia 329, 21027, Ispra) and all movies will, in principle, be screened in their original language, with subtitles in either EN or ITA.
After the movie, we plan to dedicate some time to an open conversation.

Entrance to all events is free.
