Saturday 13 June 2026 – Exhibition Metafisica / Metafisiche – Palazzo Reale, Milan

Metafisica/Metafisiche at Palazzo Reale is a major exhibition curated by Vincenzo Trione that explores the origins, development and enduring legacy of Metaphysical Art. Bringing together around 400 works from more than 150 public and private collections in Italy and abroad, the exhibition offers an unprecedented journey through painting, sculpture, photography, design, architecture, cinema, music and literature.

At its core are the protagonists of the historic group founded in Ferrara in 1917—Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Carlo Carrà, Filippo de Pisis and Giorgio Morandi—placed in dialogue with European and American artists who absorbed and reinterpreted their enigmatic visions, as well as contemporary figures inspired by Metaphysical poetics.

Through this wide-ranging and multidisciplinary approach, Metafisica/Metafisiche reveals Metaphysical Art not only as a defining chapter of the twentieth century, but as a living language that continues to influence the imagination of today.
